What do you recommend for a cheap sound activated light switch, like flying?

I read that doors are not always so great. And looks a little steep at $ 18. Are there other cheaper options for a sound activated light switch?

Children, like in "Hey, turn on the light or I'm gonna kick your ass" Oh, no, children are cheap and not very reliable either. Home Depot has some switches of light that come with little infrared remote control – advantage is that they are more relaible the wing. The disadvantage is that you can use if you have lost the remote. And I bet most cost $ 18.
