Is it safe to mount a TV 52 "flat screen above the fireplace?

I moved to an apartment that has a fireplace and enough space for an entertainment center in the living room. The loan officer said the lease can mount a TV Above the fireplace with your permission. Is it an option sure to put the TV? I heard people go on television in the fireplace, but I still have any safety problems.

Although technically is possible, I would not recommend it. I visited several houses with flat screen mounted on the mantelpiece. Even after only a few hours I leave with a sore neck to look so tall. This is simply not a natural angle of vision.
