How can I resolve to lock on a file cabinet?

the locking mechanism broke and now I can not close it. Anyone have any ideas?

You can buy a padlock to fill a closet hardware. It will come with instructions on how to install it. Do not use a lock smith as has been mentioned above. I am a blacksmith and has been locked to pay $ 100.00. You can buy a new use of all this study. The lock on the hardware will be less than $ 10.
